After Shower Oil

body oil

I like to apply an after shower oil to help with sealing in the moisture right after I take a shower. I like to put it in a spray bottle because it is so fast and easy to use. Which means that I am more likely to actually use it.

BTMS 50 is a self emulsifying wax that leaves a soft powdery feel to your skin. Just as a warning the BTMS 50 can smell a bit fishy, but that smell will not carry through to the final product. You would have to use a lot, probably over 10% to have it carry through. I choose this over Olivum 1000 because it brings a conditioning element into our formula.

You can have a lot of fun swapping out the oils that you use in this formula, just make sure that you go with a dry oil. Dry oils are oil that are going to absorb quickly into your skin when you use them.

Dry oils: Avocado oil, MCT oil, jojoba oil, Safflower oil, sunflower oil and grapeseed oil.

When selecting your scent for this you can either go with fragrance oil or essential oils, it is completely up to you. I went with Smell The Rainbows, I am really loving this fragrance oil because it smells like Skittles.

I get asked a lot for recipes that do not require a preservative. Since we are not using water and it wont come into contact with water, there is no need for a preservative. This after shower oil is almost like creating a lotion, but instead of adding the water to the formula, we use the water that is left on our skin after the shower.
