Lavender Shower Steamers (Easy DIY Aromatherapy Recipe)

If you love relaxing showers, aromatherapy shower steamers are a simple way to turn your routine into a spa-like experience.
These lavender shower steamers are made with essential oils instead of fragrance oils, making them perfect for a calming, natural shower. Unlike bath bombs, shower steamers are designed to release scent through steam—not sit in water—so the formula is slightly different.

Instructions

  • Step 1: Mix Dry Ingredients

    In a bowl, combine:
Baking soda, Citric acid, Cornstarch and Mica Powder
    Mix thoroughly to remove clumps.
  • Step 2: Add Essential Oil

Slowly add the lavender essential oil and mix well to evenly distribute.
  • Step 3: Add Moisture Slowly

Lightly spritz the mixture with rubbing alcohol or witch hazel while mixing. I prefer witch hazel.
You’re aiming for a damp sand texture—it should hold its shape when squeezed but not fizz.
  • Step 4: Pack Into Mold

Firmly press the mixture into your molds.
    Pack tightly to prevent crumbling.
  • Step 5: Dry and Cure

Let the shower steamers dry for 24–48 hours before removing from molds.
