Pink Lily and Bamboo Massage Soap

I love the marble look of this Massage Soap. You can have a lot of fun playing around with different colors to make your perfect soap. You can really make this your own soap by swapping out the colors and fragrance oil.

Instructions

  • Prepare Soap Bases: Cut up the White Melt and Pour and the Clear Melt and Pour soap bases into chunks. Place a container on your scale and press the tare button. Weigh out 3 ounces of each soap base.
  • Melt Soap: Melt both soap bases in the microwave. You will want to do this in 10-15 second intervals, mixing well in between each interval.
  • Add Fragrance: Add 0.10 ounce of Pink Lily and Bamboo Fragrance Oil to each of the melted soap bases. Mix well.
  • Color Soaps: Add the Aquamarine Mica Powder to the clear melt and pour and the Haze Mica Powder to the white melt and pour soap. Mix well. If you have a hard time getting the mica to mix, just spray it with rubbing alcohol and it will break the surface tension and make it easier to mix in. (Be sure to mix the bottom and the sides of the soap base).
  • Equal Temperatures: You are going to want to check the temperature of both of your soaps. You want them to be roughly the same temperature or within a few degrees of one another. If you need to, you can pop one or both back in the microwave for a few seconds.
Note: The higher the temperature of the soap, the more the colors will blend together. To get the most distinguishable colors, try pouring at a lower temperature around 120°F.
  • Pouring: When you are pouring the soaps into your Massage Bar Mold, pour a little of one color, then a little of the next color. Doing it a little bit at a time, gives you more of a marbled look then if you just pour it quickly.
Don't pour the soap all in one spot, rather you are going to want to move it around a bit to spread out the colors. You can also play around with pouring at different heights to see what difference it makes.
  • Cool Down: Allow the soap to cool completely before you unmold. Once it is cooled you can unmold and it is ready to use. Note, if you are not using it right away be sure to wrap it in some saran wrap to prevent soap sweating.
