Vegan Lotion Dots Recipe

If you’ve ever tried lotion bars and found them too greasy—or too hard to use—you’re going to love these vegan lotion dots.
These vegan lotion dots are a simple solid lotion recipe made without beeswax, using candelilla wax as a plant-based alternative. Unlike many DIY lotion bars, this formula is designed to feel smooth, lightweight, and melt easily into your skin—without that heavy or waxy feeling.

Instructions

Combine Heat Phase Ingredients

  • Add Mango butter, Cocoa butter, Shea butter, Candelilla wax, Cetyl alcohol to a heat-safe container.

Melt Using Double Boiler

  • Place the container into a double boiler and gently heat until fully melted.
Stir occasionally to ensure even melting.
    * Candelilla wax takes longer to melt—this is normal.

Add Liquid Oils

  • Remove from heat and add apricot kernel oil and jojoba oil
    Stir until fully combined.

Cool Down Ingredients

  • Allow to cool slightly before adding fragrance oil and vitamin E

Add Color (Optional)

  • Divide into separate containers and add mica powder for color.

Pour into Molds

  • Pour into silicone molds.
This can be time-consuming with small molds, but a scraper makes it much faster and cleaner.

Let Them Set

  • Allow to harden at room temperature or place in the fridge for 20–30 minutes.

Unmold

  • Gently remove from molds once fully solid.
