When you use the spray, be sure not to use too much. Even though we only use a light weight oil, using too much can leave your hair feeling a little greasy.
To use, just spray a few times on your hair when it is wet. Then style.

Anti Frizz Hair Spray Ingredients
Oil
Grapeseed oil
I love grapeseed oil for this anti frizz hair spray because it is a very light oil. In fact, it’s lighter than olive oil. The reason why that is important is because you want to use an oil that is going to moisturize your hair, but not going to leave it feeling greasy.
Water Phase
Distilled water
Be sure to use distilled water and not just tap water in this recipe. All water is not created equal and it is just good practice to always use distilled water when making cosmetics. Water in one place is not going to be the same as water somewhere else. Some have soft water, hard water, etc. Using distilled water rules out the “water” ingredient if something goes wrong with your creations.
DL Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5)
Dl panthenol is completely optional. I use this because it easily penetrates the hair to help to moisturize and soften it. It is also known to reduce spilt ends. If you choose not to use this ingredient, just add 1% more water to the recipe.
Emulsifier
Polysorbate 20
Polysorbate 20 is a non-ionic surfactant that is used as an emulsifier. The polysorbate 20 really does two things – it helps oil and water to mix and reduces the surface tension of the water to help with forming an emulsion.
Without this ingredient, we would just have all of our oil floating on top of the water.
Essential Oils
Ylang Ylang Rose
Ylang Ylang
Ylang ylang essential oil is derived from the Canaga Tree. This tree produces the yellow – green ylang-ylang flowers. The oil is made from a steam distillation process. When you have dry hair, this oil is great as a natural conditioning agent. It stimulates the glands that produce sebum and can help to increase the production of the sebum. It is also believed that it can prevent split ends with regular use.
Rose Essential Oil
Rose essential oil smells amazing! The great thing about this essential oil is that it helps to add shine to your hair and reduce frizz. It is has anti-microbial properties.
Preservative
Ok, let’s talk preservatives. Any time that you add water into a formula, you have to add a broad spectrum preservative. If you do not add one, you are going to wind up growing some pretty nasty stuff in your creations and they will not be safe to use for very long. I used optiphen plus in this recipe.
