Let’s take a look at our ingredients:

Baking Soda & Citric Acid

The combination of the baking soda and citric acid is what makes this diy shower steamer fizz like a bath bomb when it gets wet. Remember, in grade school when you would make the baking soda and vinegar volcano’s? Same idea, just with dry ingredients. Once water hits this shower steamer it begins to fizz

Kaolin Clay

Kaolin Clay is used to slow the release of the shower fizzy and it helps to harden it. The last thing that you want is for the shower steamer to fizz out right away, you want that fragrance to last the entire shower.

Witch Hazel

Witch Hazel is used in a spray bottle to wet the mixture. Unlike water, it evaporates quicker and is not going to ruin the fizziness. If you would like this can be substituted out with rubbing alcohol.

Just make sure that you use a spray bottle. I was able to find them at the dollar tree. It cam with one spray bottle and two small containers that are perfect for purse lotions.

Fragrance

Feel free to choose your favorite fragrance! You can also use mint if you have a cold to relieve congestion, it will be like having vicks in the shower.

Mold

As a mold, I used a cupcake pan from the dollar tree. It is the perfect size and only $1! You can also use a silicone mold or an ice cube tray.

  • 0.16 ounce 2% Kaolin Clay
  • 0.16 ounce 2% Fragrance Oil
