Sprinkle Candle

Making Sprinkle Candles

I absolutely love the look of this sprinkle candle, it is just so darn cute. I love the look of the small circle sprinkles, but really you can use any sprinkle that you have on hand. These candles are really easy gifts that you can whip up in no time at all and with ingredients you probably already have on hand.

How much wax should I use?

The easiest wat to to figure out how much wax you will need is to fill your container up two times with wax. This will typically be very close to the amount of wax you need.

What temperature should I add the fragrance oil?

I normally stir it until it cools to roughly 120 °F before adding the fragrance. I will then add the fragrance and continue to stir. Be sure to check the flash point of your fragrance oil because if the wax is too hot when you add the fragrance, it can actually burn off the top notes from your fragrance. The Strawberry Shortcake fragrance that I am using has a flash point of 130°F.

Making a sprinkle candle

1. Start with a clean candle container. For the blog I reused an old candle container and in the video I used a mason jar. I think I like the look of the old candle container better.

2. Using a paint brush, apply mod podge to the inside sides of you candle jar. Try not to get too much on the bottom of the jar.

3. Once the entire inside sides are covered with mod podge, put sprinkles in the jar until the sides are covered with sprinkles.

4. Shake out any remaining sprinkles and allow to dry.

5. Add a small amount of hot glue on the wick tab.

6. Place the wick tab in the center of the jar.

7. Heat your soy wax on a double boiler.

8. Once melted, remove from heat.

9. Add your fragrance oil and mix well. You are going to want to make sure the temperature of the wax is below the fragrance flash point before you add it.

10. Allow to cool until it is at the recommended pouring temperature for your wax.

11. Slowly pour the wax into you container.
