I am into everything exfoliating lately. I get some weird satisfaction from removing those nasty dead skin cells and I love love love how your skin feels afterward. Lips are no exception, they need to be exfoliated too!
I made this diy lip scrub recipe specifically so you won’t have to go out and buy anything to make it. It includes ingredients that you probably already have in your kitchen. Mix yourself up a quick batch to exfoliate your lips, bringing back the silky smooth texture!

There are endless options to customize this with different sugars and salts. You can also use different flavorings to change it up to meet your specific needs.
Let’s look at our ingredients:
This is the exfoliating part of the sugar scrub. It will exfoliate your lips and it tastes delicious in this scrub.
This is used to add a little more flavoring to the scrub and to wet it.
Olive is a great oil to use to protect your lips from getting dried out because it is easily absorbed into the skin. In fact, if you wanted to you could just rub some Olive Oil on your lips as a moisturizer in a pinch.
Please note that there is no need to add a preservative because there is no water in this recipe.
How to Use:
To use this diy lip scrub, start by wetting your lips. Then grab a small amount of the scrub and rub on your lips to exfoliate in small circles for about 30 seconds as recommended by the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD).
Then you rinse off and apply lip balm of your choice. Now you can enjoy the silky smooth texture of your lips. If you want you can also lick it off your lips, as the ingredients are edible! I will normally make a small batch because it is so easy to make and just whip up a fresh one as needed.
