One of the things that I like most about this homemade lip gloss, is the slip that it has! Unlike a lip balm, that you would want to absorb quickly, this lip gloss lasts for a while. I have been on a mission to make all my own skin care products to ditch the store bought, and a homemade lip gloss is a must!
Another cool thing is that this gloss only requires 3 ingredients. That’s it! The coloring and flavoring are completely optional. Feel free to choose your favorite color and flavor to easily customize the homemade lip gloss.

Base Oils
Emollient, that prevents water loss. (Learn more about emollients here). Also used to thicken the gloss a little bit.
We use this because it provides a lovely glide to our lip gloss. On top of that, it is a slow absorbing oil that is thick and viscous.
I like to use this oil, because it it super slow to absorb and leaves a nice glide to the lip gloss. It also has skin softening properties, making it a great choice for a lip gloss.
Optional Extras
Flavoring
Me, I like to add just a little bit of flavoring to my lip gloss. It’s just not right when it doesn’t have flavor! For this one, I am going to use Monkey Farts, because it smells amazing!
It would be perfectly acceptable to leave your lip gloss clear. However, I like to add just a little bit of color. I use just a small amount of a lip tint. You can also use mica powder, just make sure that it is lip safe. Not all mica powders will be.
I am notorious for not checking the size of things when I order them. When I bought these, I thought they were going to be larger. However, as it turns out, I love the mini sizes.
