Massage bars are like a lotion but in solid form. They are solid at room temperature, but melt when it touches your skin. I decided to put these in a container to make them a little easier to use and allow you to take the bars on the go. The tapioca pearls really add to the massage and can help boost circulation.

Hardness of the bars
We need to use butters in our massage bars to keep them solid at room temperature. It is a delicate balance between making them hard enough to stay solid but still melt on contact with our skin.
If you decide to swap out any of the butter, just pay attention to the properties of that butter. For example, it you wanted to use cocoa butter (which is very hard / brittle butter) you might decrease the beeswax or add a bit more of the carrier oil.
The carrier oil is an easy swap, and you can literally change it out for anyone that you like.
Massage Bar Ingredients
Beeswax
Beeswax is very hard, we use it to keep our massage bar in a solid bar form. It is also an emollient, meaning that it creates a thin protective layer over your skin to lock in moisture.
Mango butter
Mango butter is softer than cocoa butter and a just a bit harder than shea butter. This is a lightweight non-greasy butter.
Shea Butter
Soft butter, great for moisturizing dry skin. Shea butter has an excellent glide and leaves the skin feeling soft.
Hazelnut Oil
We use a carrier oil to help soften the massage bar up a bit. Hazelnut oil absorbs slowly into our skin, allowing more time to massage.
Monkey Farts Fragrance Oil
The Monkey Farts fragrance oil is a tropical mix of banana, with hints of vanilla, plus a little coconut.
Tapioca Pearls
The tapioca peals are used to add to the massage and help with boosting circulation. They really take the massage bar to the next level.
Making Massage Bars
1. Weigh out all of your ingredients.
2. Place the beeswax, shea butter, and hazelnut oil in a heat safe container.
3. Melt on a double boiler until completely melted.
4. When you remove the container from the heat safe container, be sure to wipe of the edges so there is no water on the outside.
5. Add the mango butter and mix until melted.
6. Add the monkey farts fragrance oil and mix well.
7. Pour into your container.
8. Allow the massage bar to cool slightly, then add the tapioca pearls. They will want to fall to the bottom of the container, so be careful when placing them. I find that it is easier when you put them on the side of the container.
9. Let cool and enjoy.
