If you are interested in making your own Succulent Wax Melts, then you have come to the right place. These melts are easy to make and they make a nice handmade gift. They are suitable for a beginner who is new to candle making or just wants to test out making some wax melts. I am using the same succulent mold that I used in a Succulent Melt and Pour post, because I am trying really hard to re-use my molds. Mostly because I need to justify the boxes of silicone molds that I have.

Making Succulent Wax Melts
Weigh the Wax
Weigh your soy wax by placing a bowl on your scale and pressing the tare button. Add 2 ounces of soy wax to the bowl, then pour it into your pouring pot.
Prepare the Candle Dye
I am using color blocks to dye the wax, but you can use the liquid candle dye if you prefer. To use the color block, just cut off a bit and add it to the wax in your pouring pot.
Melt Wax
Place the pouring pot on a double boiler until it is completely melted. You will want to melt it on a low/medium heat.
Test the Color
When you are looking at the hot wax, it will look a lot darker than it actually is. To figure out what the finished color will look like, place a small amount on a paper towel. Allow it to cool, this will be the finished color of your tarts. At this point, if you would like you can add a bit more color.
Prepare the Fragrance
The fragrance load for the soy wax that I am using is 10%, however I am using 7% fragrance in these melts. To weight the Golden Hyndrangea fragrance oil, set a small container on your scale and press the tare button. Then pour 0.15 ounce of fragrance in it. Once you remove the wax from the double boiler, you can add the fragrance to it. You are going to want to stir the wax and fragrance for 1-2 minutes to ensure that the fragrance binds with the wax.
Pouring
Carefully pour the wax into your succulent silicone mold. Allow to cool completely before you remove the wax tarts from the mold. For the strongest scent, wait 1-2 weeks before using. This cure time is needed for the wax and fragrance to bind fully. Store them in an air tight container.
