Cooling Foot Massage Oil Ingredients

Menthol Crystals

Menthol crystals when applied to our skin, gives a cooling sensation.

Eucalyptus and Spearmint Fragrance Oil

The eucalyptus and spearmint fragrance oil smells amazing when combined with the menthol crystals. You can swap this out for another fragrance oil. To adjust the use rate (if you are using a different fragrance oil) add or subtract to the avocado oil percentage.

It is not possible to make this without a fragrance oil, because that is what we use to dissolve the menthol crystals.

Polysorbate 20

We use polysorbate 20 for a few different reasons. One reason is to help to fully mix the menthol crystals in with our oils. The rule of thumb is to use 3 parts polysorbate 20 to 1 part menthol crystals. The second reason we use it is to prevent staining, if by chance you get the foot massage oil on clothing or sheets, it will be easier to wash out.

Fractionated Coconut Oil

So you can think of fractionated coconut oil as a fraction of coconut oil. Basically, it is coconut oil with the long chain triglycerides removed. It is great for dry skin and unlike coconut oil, it is readily absorbed into the skin. It also does not leave behind a greasy feeling.

Avocado Oil

Avocado oil is said to be calming on itchy skin and healing for chapped skin. We also use it because it does not leave your feet feeling greasy after use, it leaves them feeling moisturized.
