Today I had one of those embarrassing moments, I threw my flip flops on and ran out the door. It wasn’t until I happened to look down at my feet, that I realized how gross they were. Yeah, they were nasty… I should have given them a good soak and scrub before I went anywhere. To be honest, I am one of those people who love to go outside and work in the yard barefoot… and it showed today. So, I decide to make a Minty Tea Foot Soak!!

Let’s go over the ingredients:

Epsom Salt

We all know that soaking our feet in Epsom salt feels good. The reason is the magnesium and sulfate in Epsom salt are good for reducing inflammation and eliminating odors.

Dead Sea Salt

Dead sea salt is packed full of minerals. It contains magnesium, potassium, calcium chloride and bromides. Bromides are good for soothing the skin and helping muscles relax, while the calcium helps to cleanse pores.

Be sure not to leave your dead sea salt out and uncovered because it draws moisture from the air. If you want to test this, leave a bowl out and the next day it will be full of water.

Black Tea

Supposedly, the tannic acid in black tea helps to eliminate odors and close pores. Plus, I used a blend of spearmint and peppermint which smells amazing.

Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree is known for its antiseptic properties. It has been shown to kill some bacteria and fungus. If you would like to learn more about tea tree oil, check out this post.

Lemon Essential Oil

Lemon essential oil is an astringent and helps to detoxify the skin.

Prepare yourself before you make this… it is going to smell amazing.
