Using Sugar Lip Scrub

To use your lip scrub, start by wetting your lips a bit. Then you are going to take a small amount of the sugar scrub and rub it in circle motions on your lips. There is no need to apply pressure, just allow the sugar to do it’s thing and gently exfoliate your lips.

After your done exfoliating, rinse your lips off and apply a lip moisturizer. Check out this Monkey Farts Lip Balm post if you would like to make your own lip moisturizer.

Sugar Lip Scrub Ingredients

Sugar

Regular granulated sugar is the exfoliator in this recipe. It is a gentle exfoliator, that is edible (so lip safe) and it dissolves in water.

When i first started making lips scrubs I was worried the sugar would dissolve in the oil, it doesn’t.

Cocoa Butter

Cocoa butter is going to help thicken this lip scrub up a bit as well as give it a hint of a chocolate aroma. Cocoa butter is an emollient, which means it will create a barrier over your lips to help hold in moisture. It is also used as a moisturizer.

Hazelnut Oil

We use hazelnut oil to add extra moisturizing properties to our scrub. This can be swapped out for any carrier oil that you have on hand. One of my favorite oils to swap it with is olive oil, because I always have some in my pantry.

Flavoring

I cannot get over how good Monkey Farts flavoring smells. It is a fruit blend with a hint of coconut. Mixed with the cocoa butters chocolatey aroma, this lip scrub smells too darn good. Here are more flavors if your interested.

If you don’t have flavoring, you can leave it out completely or swap it for imitation vanilla.
